These are a few more of my favourite things

I woke up this morning humming this song- My Favourite Things.  Since the time I had been introduced to the song, from ‘The Sound of Music’, in third grade, it has remained one of my favourites. I do love the movie and all of the other songs too but I’ve always felt that the lyrics of this particular song were perfect. Thinking and singing about happy stuff definitely drives away those Monday Morning blues.  In fact the song should have more verses! If I were asked to add another verse, it would look like this:

Flickering fireflies that flutter by me
A warm hug from a loved one the moment you wake up
Dazzling white daises that dance in the breeze
These are a few of my favourite things

What would you add? Go on; make a stanza of your favourite things! It could include anything from a pet to a prized possession, maybe even a jewelled diadem :)

  1. Not feeling too poetic this morning so I'll just go with the original. Love the song and your verse is charming too. I love hugs too, specially when they come from two tiny people :-).

    1. The original verses are amazing! :) But there are so many other things which make me feel happy that I thought it'd be fun to try and introduce them! Maybe you can ask the tiny people to come up with their own lines and have an H verse and and an N verse! :)

  2. The sound of music is my favorite, guess what- and my children love the songs too. One of my favorite things is singing along with music and that is what I do every morning!

  4. Very clever to make a verse, some of mine may include being surrounded by my children and our pets. I love your verse, the image of the flowers is lovely, and I agree waking up to a hug is beautiful #mg

    1. Hugs are the best! They can truly turn that frown upside down in an instant. :)
